Supporting educators dedicated to student success.

The University of Chicago is committed to helping schools, teachers and counselors bridge the “aspiration gap:” the difference between the number of Chicago Public Schools students who say they want to attend a four–year college, and the number who actually enroll.

Poor planning and a lack of understanding about the admissions process may prevent some CPS students from accessing higher education. Even qualified students struggle. We call these reasons the “potholes” on the road to college and they include an exceedingly complex financial aid process and a lack of “college knowledge.” UChicago Promise aims to help qualified high school students reach their higher education dreams by supporting schools, teachers, and counselors.
